Employee Access

Hi. So my ex partner is an employee at Vodafone and has threatened to check my call history and other data through work. I feel as though this is an invasion of privacy and not allowed, but wanted to know how easy/accessible this information is from employees that work at the store? If they can check my phone bills which display information I do not want to be accessed, etc. thanks.

I would assume that if the person you're worried about works in a store, they would be able to access most parts of your account since they may (if you were a customer in store for example) have a legitimate need to access anything from your billing to contract dates to updating your details to upgrading or taking out a new contract. 

I would also assume that there is some kind of policy and policing in place that attempts to detect when someone has accessed an account they shouldn't have (e.g. their own, or a friend's or family member's), but who knows what this goes off of and how effective it is.

I would contact the social media team separately and supply both your details and your ex partners, they should be able to take a look at whether it's been accessed thus far (any access and changes should be logged for compliance in case anything goes pear shaped they know who to blame) and raise it to wherever it needs to to ensure there's a link between your account and your ex so it gets flagged if it is ever accessed. 

Just a note about them being able to make changes, you should receive notice about any changes and if anything were to happen, reporting it as fraud to Vodafone (which it would be) tends to get it acted on pretty quickly in most organisations.

Most customer facing employees would have access to this information on accounts, however any access to an account will leave a log of the date and time and who has entered the account. I would suggest that you tell your Ex, that if wants to keep their Job then not to access your Account as might want to have a look at their Employment Guide.

And suggest you request regularly your data held by Vodafone which will list all access to your account.
