Have always upgraded with six months to go until the end of my contract - at no extra cost. Now being told if I want to do it this time it will cost me £44 as I’m on a flexi-upgrade. I didn’t know I was on this and it wasn’t explained to me. Have never had to pay before in the 30+ years have been with Voda. No budging at all on the online chat - why should I have to pay when not done it previously. Could be losing a customer

Yes @debhamie
This has now changed with the introduction of the Evo Contracts here: Evo
An Evo contract is split into two parts, the device loan and airtime, as the contract will require a new airtime plan to go with the device part of the contract, Vodafone ask that you are out of contract at the time of taking an Evo contract or pay to terminate the previous contract.
There is further information here: Flexi Upgrades

Hi
thanks for that - it wasn’t explained to me when I took the contract out though. I logged in expecting to be able to upgrade as normal at no cost only to be told I need to pay. After 30+ years of being a Voda customer, I’ll be looking elsewhere in October.
