New Unlimited Plans - Data Roaming Limitations?

Just seen the new unlimited plans launched today.

The launch site says that there is a 25GB cap when in Europe:

"When taking your plan abroad, your data will cap at 25GB – but you can buy additional data if you need to."

https://www.vodafone.co.uk/unlimited-data-plans/

However, the link takes you to the 'Global Roaming' page which states

"We don’t restrict your roaming data with a set daily or monthly limit like other networks do. "

https://www.vodafone.co.uk/mobile/global-roaming

However this is not mentioned anywhere on the main site:

https://www.vodafone.co.uk/mobile/best-sim-only-deals

When checking the roaming section under Pay Monthly for France (for example)

"Get 4G data speeds – unlike some providers, we don’t slow your data connection or cap your data allowance"

https://www.vodafone.co.uk/explore/costs/travelling-abroad/

Can someone provide some clarification on this point as the Vodafone website is presently wildly contradictory?

It's not clear at all.

I took out the unlimited plan and before I could buy additional data and now I can't.

I am concerned that I previously went through nearly 50gb when roaming so unlimited isn't maybe as good as my previous package.

I asked the question via live chat and they guaranteed me that there is no limit.

Would be useful to know if you can buy 10gb etc

@PaulJoan5 @d4raffy @nathanp Thanks for raising this to us and I'm sorry for any confusion that's been caused by this. I've now raised your concerns to our dedicated team, to get this looked into. When taking your plan abroad, your data will cap at 25GB on our unlimited plans – not to worry though, you can buy additional data if you need to!

thanks for the reply - but that sucks if i have to buy (as I am currently offered) £10 for an extra 2 GB.

It's pointless for me to upgrade .... shame......

25GB Cap, Per Day/Month/Year/Trip? Please clarify.

@Getafix The cap would be applied per billing month and will refresh when your monthly allowance refreshes 😊

So say for instance I’ve just taken out the unlimited max plan, I’m using it as a hotspot while my WiFi comes back, I’m going to Spain a week today but I will of already used near enough 30GB before I’ve left, is that cap set when I leave as a roaming cap or am I sundenly left without data?

It doesn't matter how much data you have used whilst in the UK, the cap only counts data when roaming, so you will still have 25GB of data per billing cycle to use abroad.

So even if I use 80GB before my trip, I'll still have 25gb to roam with? Thanks for your quick replies btw :Smiling:
