According to this Amazon UK press release Alexa brings two new calling options to UK customers (aboutamazon.co.uk)
If you are signed up to a pay monthly Vodafone mobile account, under the Vodafone OneAccount scheme you can make emergency calls over a Amazon Echo (Alexa) device in the UK. Is this still the case, and does a OneAccount, also give you integration with Samsung and Apple smartwatches for example as well? How much is the cheapest pay monthly contract which gives full OneAccount access for a new Vodafone mobile SIM only customer?

This is for my elderly father, who is a close friend of a senior Vodafone UK executive. If he is eligible for "Vodafone Employee Advantage" or similar discounts, does that make a difference to the cheapest UK pay monthly SIM only contract he could go on, which has the Vodafone OneAccount/Amazon Echo UK emergency calling feature?

You can link an Apple watch to your mobile number for £7/month. Presumably Samsung watches have a similar price.
Amazon Echo devices can be linked for the princely price of absolutely nothing! You can’t say fairer than that.

From what I have read so far, it seems as though you have to have "Vodafone OneAccount" on top of any pay monthly vodafone SIM only contract, but there is an additional charge for "Vodafone OneAccount" on top of the charge for what-ever monthly SIM only contract. So it looks like I could get a £6 a month basic pay monthly SIM only account, but I would still need to pay around £7 a month on top of that for a "Vodafone OneAccount", so minimum charge would be £13 a month, assuming no Vodafone staff discount. Or have I misunderstood. The end goal is to be able to make 999 calls from an Amazon Echo.

Reading through the below, the "Basic" Vodafone pay-monthly SIM only account are not eligible for Vodafone OneNumber even if you pay extra on top..... Its looking like a seriously expensive option, if all I want to do is phone 999 from an Amazon Echo in the UK.
