Transfer phone number into sons name from my contract

My son is now 19 and I want to transfer the ownership of his number from my contract to him so he can now pay his bills.  He is SIM only. He wanted to change to another network and take his number with him and so I started the process and he was issued a PAC code from Vodafone, he has tried to get another contract but for some reason was told he can't do this.  Is this correct?

The other option is he stays with Vodafone how do I transfer this way?

You will need to complete and authorise a transfer of ownership @kjbesant26 from this link from the website

Transferring your number and agreement Your Son will need to accept the SIM only contract into his name and meet the credit checking criteria. 

The other alternative is to ask Vodafone to split the account, this will enable your Son to manage the online account and make payments through direct debit but with you still remaining the account holder and responsible for making sure the payments are up to date.

I am still confused about the transfer to another network using the PAC code and why this doesn't work?

The most likely reason is due to him trying to port out a contract that is not in his name @kjbesant26 .  

Try changing the contract to your Son's name for him to request a PAC.
