My contact is running out on the 26th. I want to purchase the Sim only offer.
I'm told the only way to keep my number is to upgrade, however the only options to upgrade are phones and not sim only.
I've spoken to someone that has informed me there is nothing that can be done to change my contact but they can't do anything till after my contract has ended. Does anyone else know a way to get the offer but keep the same phone number? They have also informed me that if i purchase the offer now, it wont be possible to transfer the number over.

Customer Services are telling you a load of nonsense @ashler
Your contracts ends in 3 days time and of course you can change your tariff to SIM only now with the same number you won't be cancelling the contract just changing to a different tariff and you continue to use the same online account. You also pay line rental in advance and will have already paid for the final month.
When you receive the following months bill after the change it can be confusing, there should be a credit for line rental paid in advance for the previous contract and pro rata charges for the new contract with a months line rental charged in advance.

Call 191 and choose the Thinking of Leaving option.
They'll provide all the options including moving to sim only which will include keeping your number.
It's possible the agent you've spoken to didn't fully understand what was wanted.
I'm sure they wouldn't speak nonsense intentionally.
You could even upgrade via Carphone Warehouse.
