Hi, I signed up to a Vodafone basics sim only plan a month or so back. Anyway apparently you can’t roam on these plans. Well, some things I’ve read says you can’t roam as standard, which kind of indicates the rule might be flexible in some way?
I didn’t notice the inability to roam at the time of sign up (my fault I should have paid more attention), but I was just wondering if Vodafone will add the facility to roam, say on a payg basis, where the charges are just added to your account rather than coming out of your bundle, or is it just a matter of having to use a different sim when abroad?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
If you unlock the roaming bars in your basics plan you get a message confirming you can use it abroad. Is that truly the case or are you still limited to UK, as per the contract?
Thanks

Thanks @AnnS . Vodafone should probably fix that then as you still receive a message after removing the bar which tells you that you can make calls or use data abroad.

I guess from a ‘billing’ perspective roaming is disabled by default with all SimOnly plans that in the ‘basics’ category.
After the initial period, I guess roaming can be added back, which was the case with my son’s plan.

Hi all 👋 It sounds like there's a little confusion over our Basic plans. These plans are for use in the UK only. Roaming is unavailable on all Vodafone Basics SIMs.
If you're receiving messages advising that you're able to use your SIM abroad @Oskoff78, pop us a message on our social channels and we'll be happy to look into this for you.

I have a basic plan and it clearly states that my plan includes Vodafone Global Roaming on all my bills. 🤔
