I requested a PAC code from Vodafone on 20/12/24 as my contract was due to end 29/12.
I tried using the PAC code when I ordered my new sim from my new provider (Smarty) but it said the code was incorrect - I assumed it was because I’d only just got it - however I now have my new SIM with smarty and the PAC code is still not accepted. I now have 2 contracts running and keen to get the Vodafone one cancelled ASAP as it renews tomorrow at a ridiculous rate.
Any ideas? Google didn’t help much other than send me here …

Hello @Coral2reef
You are going to need to contact Vodafone Customer Services again I'm afraid, especially if you want your Vodafone Mobile Number to be used on your new Smarty Contract.
The Vodafone Social Media Teams also have access to accounts. https://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/About-the-Community/Contact-us-about-account-related-queries.
If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask 😎

Your contract won't renew @Coral2reef , it will just roll over on a month to month basis until cancelled.
The problem with Smarty is it's online only but they do have a Community and should be able to advise further here Smarty
Smarty is a virtual network, using the 3 network and this may be where the problem lies, the code may work perfectly when porting directly to 3.

My contract was £28 a month and the new one they are moving it over to is £45 a month! Crazy! Obviously I had discounts but that £28 included a shiny iPhone 14 Pro 2 years ago. Really suprised no one from Vodafone contacted me directly as I’ve been a customer for well over 10 years and no-one has attempted to retain me as a customer.
So I did a dual chat today with Vodafone online chat and smarty chat and finally got it sorted - although it may not transfer until 2nd Jan.
I already have a smarty SIM as my personal number and been really pleased with them as I can use it abroad with no extra fees. My Vodafone contract charged me a fortune just to turn it on 😩 and as I’m abroad a few times a year it made it not worthwhile and sadly Vodafone signal has been absolutely terrible in my area for the past 6 months, have contacted them about it but never made any difference sadly.
thank you for the answers though
