Hi everyone.

I feel like I am going insane trying to get my Asus DSL-AX82U router working as a replacement to the vodafone hub. I've scoured these boards and even amazon comments to try and get it working. FTTP/H by openreach.

Password and email to the broadband are correct as I've reached out to vodafone to check three times.

Can someone please provide a step-by-step if they've managed to get it to work?

@shawpants you can run through the QIS without losing any of your personalised settings - just click the QIS button.

It is all working now, I set the connection up manually.

The issue I was having was that I had temporarily daisy-chained the ASUS from the Vodafone Router and to do this it needed the WAN settings to be set as "Automatic IP".  I originally tried to set up the connection using only the ASUS by leaving the 'Automatic IP' WAN connection and just adding a second one that was PPPoE thinking that if one connection failed it would just move to the next one in the list, but this didn't work.  When I removed the 'Automatic IP' connection so that I only have the PPPoE connection it worked.

I couldn't do the Quick Internet Setup, for some reason the ASUS interface would just hang while trying to auto detect the connection and I couldn't select the country and provider as it just kept jumping back to trying to auto detect the connection.

Thanks all for the help, much appreciated.

Glad it's working👌🏾

Getting my own router to work with Vodafone fiber 900

After 3 calls, several emails and nearly 2 hours on the phone with TP-LInk.  My AXE 75 Router is now working great.   Vodafone gave me a VLAN ID: of 101.  TP - Link worked the VLAN ID out as 911 and got the router working fine.  They then sent me a print out of the status page showing all the setting.  Contact me if you would like a copy.

Now I need to say that TP-Link and Especially Mae Long were Patient and brilliant at getting my AXE 75 to connect to the internet.  If you are thinking of getting a modem or router and you are not technical   You should be buying TP-Link and I have not been encouraged to recommend them.  My home has all TP-Link, router extender and Deco.  The back up when I need help is outstanding.
