Samsung S6 "SIM network PIN blocked. Enter SIM network PUK"

I see lots of people having the same problem as me and just wondering how best to get the phone MCK/Defreeze code?

The problem arose when I transferred my S6 to my daughter who is not on Vodafone, when we entered her SIM it requested a SIM network pin, not knowing what this was I tried various pins and eventually managed to lock that dialog and now get

"SIM network PIN blocked. Enter SIM network PUK"

Eventually figured out that the original prompt was for a network unlock code but too late as phone know locked and needs what prompt calls "SIM network PUK" which is very unfortunate as each time you phone customer services they either

  1. Suggest you enter the NUC - which you cant because that option is now blocked by the earlier mistakes.
  2. Tell me to contact the SIM provider as the SIM is blocked and needs a PUK to unlock it - which isnt true as SIM works fine in other phones - I have tried and it doesnt work - suspect just poor terminology  by Samsung would have been better not to request SIM network PUK when they really want the MCK/Defreeze/Master Control Key

Anyhow, now I know I need to enter the MCK/DEFREEZE code first and then enter the NUC.  But obtaining the MVK seems to be causing me and other posters problems.  What is the best way to do this, customer services told me to go to a shop (see this doesnt work for most people), contact customer services (dont know what the error is about), use nucresolutions (10 days and still waiting for their response),  only reliable way seem to be getting it unlocked by 3rd party provider but dont see why Vodafone cant sort quickly!

Any thoughts on who best to contact/phrasing to use to get them to supply this code?

Cheers

Neil

@Cmh1990 - I can imagine this being frustrating and I’m sorry that you’ve had to contact us so many times. We can escalate it to our Network unlock team.

They’ll then contact Samsung and help to get it sorted. So that we can take your details, please follow the steps in this private message.

Hi Gemma,

I'm having the same problem with my S7, i cannot get anywhere with the call center as they constantly tell me to contact other carriers for PUK codes i don't need.  I've tried emailing the nuc team but my emails get returned undelivered 27 hours later, could you possibly help with getting me a master code please?

Thanks Jim

@jimbo160278 We'd love to help look into this for you and get the code you need. Please send us your details over following the steps detailed in this private message.

Hi there mods, I have exactly the same issue as discussed in this thread.

Therefore, I now require the MCK/Defreeze/Master Control Key code to unlock my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.

My contract is fully paid up and I'd like to be able to use this phone with my new network provider.

I have tried phoning a few times to no avail which is frustrating. BTW, I aleady have the NUC code.

If you could help me to obtain this code I'd be most grateful. Cheers.

I have requested a network unlock code from vodafone so that i can use the Samsung Galaxy S6 with another network... i have been going back and forth now for nearly 2 months and the help team just keep saying it should work, wait two days

the error keeps coming up "SIM network PIN blocked. Enter SIM network PUK"

please help, Vodafone says they will help you to move networks/unlock your phone and then they don't I'm very disillusioned that i followed all of the instructions given and it still doesnt work 😞

I have been a customer with vodafone for years, and use them via two separate contracts; for personal and work use. I have been having this issues since Sept 2017. It had been so long that I ahd totally forgotten about it until I just happen to hear someone talk about the problem. Spoke to Vodafone again today and they are totally clueless on how to get this resolved. I was so fed up I cancelled both contracts, which funnily enough I had renewed within the last 30 days (still within my cooling off period luckily enough). And I almost felt guilty for doing so, considering how long I had been with them... but now that I read this post, I feel that was the best decision I made today. Oh and when I called to cancel, the guy almost seemed happy to see me go and made no effort whatsoever to keep me or resolve my issues, just went ahead and cancelled my contracts.

My advice to you dear reader, if you ever want a phone unlocked by Vodafone then you better keep away from them altogether, as their customer support team are as clueless as my dog was when I showed him the error message. If I had given my dog enough time I reckon he would have figured it out within hours rather than months. Its incredible how such a simple issue seems to be causing so much trouble to so many. I would love to know how many customers they have lost due to this. Simply appalling service, never coming back to them ever again.

Hi Vodafone,

I seem to be having the same problem as everyone else with my galaxy a5. I've been bounced back and forth between different people.

Is it possible for me to get a MCK/Defreeze code?

I already have a NUC code.

Cheers

I'm disappointed it took longer than expected to unlock your phone @jspitak, I'm sure one of our teams NUC Specialists would've been able to help get this resolved sooner for you.

So we can get your issue looked inot @jwalker123 and @Toohey, please contact through the link in the private message I've sent and we'll be in touch.
