Apple Watch Ultra - won't connect with Vodafone

I have a Vodafone contract through my employer, I believe I am on a Business Evolve Starter Handset Plan.

I have to supply the handset myself in order to do all the things my job requires. I have a Apple iPhone 12.

I’ve just bought myself an Apple Watch, with the express intent of using its’ mobile capability without having to have my phone with me (gym, running, swimming, outdoor work etc), which it is widely advertised as a main selling point.

I am told when I call Vodafone Helpline on 191 that Vodafone don’t / won’t support this.

Can this functionality be added to my network plan?

Without it, it renders the watch semi useless and not fit for the purpose it was bought for, and I will need to return it soon if this cannot be added.

When going to the Mobile Data option in the Watch App, it displays this message:

Your vodafone UK Account is not eligible to enable mobile service on your Apple Watch.

Contact vodafone UK at 191 for more information.

When I rang 191, I was told by the agent that vodafone do not offer Apple Watch cellular connectivity on business contracts, but they're working on it. 

When will this be available (on UK's No1 Network), and when, how can I get this working?

Otherwise I have been sold a product that i not fit for purpose.

Hi @Ribcracker The One number product required to connect your watch to your mobile service isn't compatible with the plans used by our corporate partners. This is something we're working on and hope to offer this connectivity to all plans in the near future. Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

I need to know that this will be added to my plan soon, or the watch is going back as it is not fit for purpose.

What time frame is this, and will it cover my call plan?

I am not getting a personal call plan just so I can use my watch, when most of my calls are work related in work hours.

I am not the only one at Motus Group who is frustrated by this.

@Ribcracker We don't have a time frame for this. Any updates will be posted to the website to advise once business plans will be eligible for One Number connectivity 🙂
