Hi, my phone was stolen this weekend and I called and had the phone blacklisted within 24 hours. Unfortunately the advisor never done it right so the person who had my phone was able to access my details on my phone after getting it jailbroken.
I have called again and hope it is blacklisted but can I get clarity on what this means? The initial advisor who failed to apply the blacklist says it turns my phone into a brick? Does this mean it turns the phone off and unable to use at all or does it mean they can still use camera/photos/wifi features?
For info the phone is unlocked because it was jailbroken by the person who stole it

To blacklist a phone which is an imei block this stops a person using their own sim card in the phone to make calls, send texts and use data as they should only get a No Service notice where the network name is normally.
It does not wipe personal data.
To stop a person getting to the information held on the phone then the security of the phone is in place to stop that i.e fingerprint, 4 digit code, face unlock will do that.
Unfortunately with all security walls these can be breached by competent knowledgeable people who are intent on this process.
A person who owns the phone can when aware of the phone being taken or lost can use the findmyiphone option to wipe / erase the phone as long as the iPhone hasn't been turned Off.
From my days of jailbreaking iPhone's myself a person would need to pass those security checks first before proceeding with the jailbreak process.
Jailbtraking just allows access to the iPhone's core files to then be able to download tweaks / apps that are not from the iTunes App store @cw98x
