Super specific question-- I'm an American moving to Madrid in a few weeks. I was planning to upgrade to an iPhone 14 before leaving. However, the new models do not have VidMate a physical SIM slot (eSIM only). Does anyone know if it is possible to activate with Vodafone or Orange using only eSIM and not needing a physical tray? ( know I get data only eSIM cards, but I would like to get a Spanish phone number which is not offered through services like Airalo)

Vodafone UK only offer esim options to Pay Monthly Contract Customers and not to Pay As You Go / Prepay accounts unfortunately @warbkhelo 

You wouldn't be able to have a pay monthly contract.

Although a few countries use the Vodafone Brand Name they are not linked i.e Vodafone UK and Vodafone Spain.

So you would need to ask on Vodafone Spains Community Forum if they can offer esim support for Pre Pay.
