I ordered on pre order day iPhone 12pro and it has now been dispatched and shows delivery for tomorrow!

I think I might be in the middle ground of people who don't get their phones on release day, but possibly a few days later. I preordered mine the day after preorders opened. 

I have a screenshot from customer service live chat with the agent telling me he guarantees my phone will be with me on the 23rd, so I'll be pushing for compensation if I don't receive my phone on Friday, personally.

I ordered about an hour after pre-orders started and my monthly plan updated this morning. I got about 5 texts of Vodafone for one thing or another and then at about 10:30, DPD messaged me to say my order will be with me tomorrow. 

In past years, I’ve not heard anything from DPD till the day of delivery and Vodafone’s web site is normally days behind. seems a little bit better planned this year. 

The chat team can’t guarantee anything at preorder as they don’t know the full allocation then and how many other orders have taken. Past experience, I always find ordering online to be the most efficient. I’ve seen lots of people over the years say they have ordered through chat and not received the order confirmation email till days later.

I usually order online, in fact last year i ordered my iPhone 11 pro max online and it was delivered 3 weeks late! 

This year I tried ordering online and the website wouldn't let me order what I wanted, always throwing up an error when I entered my home address for the credit check so I ordered over the phone instead. Ordering over live chat sounds sketchy at best.

I used live chat to confirm that my phone would be delivered this year on the date promised as they had a promotion up last week promising people if they ordered before 22nd October they would receive their phone on the 23rd.

I ordered the other day and my order says :

Order confirmed – Pre-order

Dispatched :

Our supplier is low in stock due to high demand. But we’re working closely with them to get your order to you as quickly as possible.Estimated delivery date 3-4 Weeks

It has a blue dot against the Order confirmed section, so I can't see it arriving for a few weeks yet, even though I was told I should get it Friday or the next day.

Lets see how the roller coaster runs this year!!!

Can't wait to be a stereotypical angry customer service caller yet again. How can they justify this every year? It's bonkers. They just load up on as many orders as they can possibly get to print money for themselves and then say **** the customer we'll just ship out whenever apple decides to send us stock.

Mine shows as Order Confirmed - Back Order for iPhone 12 Pro 256GB Gold on Unlimited Max 5G plan (£73.95 a month with £29 upfront)...that's including a 15% discount btw. In my account order status it shows as OPEN and live chat inform me the order has been accepted. It's just a matter of waiting for stock. When I placed my order 2 days ago it said delivery in 2-3 weeks. Now the iPhone 12 Pro page is saying 3-4 weeks. The order tracker, however, shows no indication of exactly when it just says we'll update you.

Last year I waited weeks this year my phone came on Friday and it’s excellent!
