Hi @sinbad73

As long as a person has a 3G data signal and has enough credit if on Payg to send a MMS they should be fine.

Ensure no relevant bars are in place in your myvodafone.

Sometimes a person needs to have MMS provisioned on their account.

The Vodafone Social Media Teams via Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries can check this for you.

Also the Apn's in the phone need to be right.

What-should-I-do-if-I-can-t-send-or-receive-picture-messages.

Edited to add my preferences to send photos because MMS only send certain files sizes and the cost to send photos is to use Facebook Messenger or email.

Hi @sinbad73

I would recommend starting with a clear out of all old messages, this will free up some space and memory on the phone and follow this will a restart of the phone.

If you have installed any extra applications, it would also be worth checking if they are necessary, the Smart Ultra 6 only has a limited storage and memory capacity.

You may find this will sort out the problem, but if there are continued problems, live chat will be in a position to reprovision MMS messages on your account.

Having mentioned that, MMS is quite old technology and can be quite expensive, take a look at sending via WhatsApp, the costs will be covered with your data allowance or can be sent over a WiFi connection without the extra MMS charge.

Thank you for your post i cant understand it i was able to send pics before today no problem but now when i try to send pic msg just get the 2509 invalid originator msg im a bit of a caveman with any techi think i may have turned something off tried mobile data its on so not that  phoned 02 and they cant explain it either difficult to ge hold of some one to talk me throuh possible issues.🙃

Hi @sinbad73

Sounds like you are  using an 02 SIM.  If you have installed the 02 settings  you  should be able to send MMS.

Hi @sinbad73

The Vodafone phone will have come with all the necessary settings to allow a Vodafone sim card to work in it and use Vodafone's services.

Unlocking the phone to use it on another network wouldn't have changed those pre installed Vodafone settings.

However when you first inserted the o2 Sim card you should have received Over the Air New Apn Settings to allow the phone to update so you can then use that network features.

Take the o2 sim out and re insert it to see if those OTA texts arrive.

o2 may still have to provision your account to work with MMS however.

You can also manually key the Apn settings into the phone.

How-to/o2-apn-settings.

It's worth checking just incase the Apn's have reverted or somehow corrupted.
