Hi all,
hope everyone is keeping safe and well.
I have a Huawei MediaPad T5 tablet and I got a notification that the OS had an update available. Usually these install without an issue. However in this case the update stopped downloading at 4% and has been stuck there ever since.
I have tried restarting the tablet, switching the wifi off and on again to try and force the download to continue, and have turned auto update to on, but it's stuck at 4% (it doesn't start from 0 again, it always shows 4%).
There is a button at the bottom of the update allowing you to pause the download but it's not that, in fact if I do press the pause button the button then says "resume" showing that the download has been paused but if I press resume, again, nothing happens.
Any ideas?

I bit the bullet and did a factory reset and after a while an update started and this time it completed correctly. I noticed that the software version number was one higher than the version that didn't download so I assume it was a faulty update that caused the issue.

*Groan* I feared that would be the answer...... I assume that, security issues aside, there is no problem with having an updating hanging like this?

I wouldn't think it would have a detremtal effect on the general working of the device but it would be better to have the update completed.
May I assume there is ample internal storage to complete the update ?

I'd agree about checking storage space. I also suspect that a partial download wouldn't be a problem - I'd be more worried if it was sticking during the installation phase.
I presume you've done all the usual stuff like clearing the system cache and restarting the device to have it as clean as possible?

Thanks both, checked the internal storage and there was 700MB free, the update is 111MB in size. I deleted a load of watched Netflix videos and increased this to 1.7GB and restarted the tablet.
After a minute the notification appeared in the top bar showing the update was downloading but it then disappeared and it's still showing 4%.
I assume there is no way of cancelling the download, short of a reset, and trying it from scratch again?

Not as far as i can see @SimonWilding
The update may / may not proceed to complete which is sometimes due to a server issue.
