Getting a flashing screen with the word drive on, have to reboot, this has happened 4 or 5 time over the last couple of days, on my Vodafone Smart phone

Next time it happens can you see if it'll screenshot and then upload it here.
This could be something to do with Google Drive but without seeing a screenshot that's a guess.
Try a Google Search.
This showed in one thread on another forum.
"Google Play Store > Google Drive > "Enable" (because I had disabled it previously, hoping that might work) > "Update" Google Drive. "
A Vodafone Highstreet Store employee might be able to have a hands on approach with it.

It would help if you mentioned the Smart model you are using, looking at GSMarena here Vodafone Phones all Vodafone phones are Smart.
Try going into your application settings, scrolling down to drive and clear the app cache, also take a look at the app permissions, it may be that the app is trying to access your contacts or camera and there is insufficient memory left on the phone internal storage, you can turn off these permissions.
