No internet during calls

Once into conversation after 2mins, the internet goes off, and then the call cuts off or the conversation starts very unclear. Can't search anything on the internet when this hppens. The sign from 4G goes to 3G and then nothing during calls. I use a HTC ONE M7 and postcode ha2 7rw and HA5 5dx.

4G is a data only service and doesn't carry calls.   When you make (or receive one), the device has to drop back to 3G and the internet connection may drop at that point.  In Settings|Mobile data, make sure that 2/3/4G or 3/4G auto is selected.  If the device is locked to 4G, you wouldn't be able to make a data connection when the connection drops back.

because you are replying to a post from a few years back, things have changed now and 4G calling is available in some areas with some handsets in the UK.

I noticed it was happening all the time with me but today I turned off my 5g and was on call for over 30 minutes and the Internet stayed on
