Hi
i have received a text saying 3g calling will end next year. I entered my IEMI number into the check box & it says that my Sony Xperia X Compact is compatible with 4g calling so i contacted a Vodafone worker via Facebook messenger & he sent me a few texts & to text CALLING to 97888. I did this & it said WiFi calling is added but nothing about 4g calling..
How can i make sure that my phone has 4g calling ? or is the WiFi calling & 4g calling the same?
Regards
gazmix

Ah, it's a bit opaque, but that means it prefers 4G, but will use 3G or 2G.

@hrym ah ok, so which option should i choose in the 'preferred network type' setting in the above image.. It seems if i click 'WCDMA only' or ' WCDMA (preferred) GSM' it turns off 4g unless there is a way of keeping everything on the phone 4g apart from calls & texts keeping them at 2g?
Thanks

Leave it as it is. That way, it'll try to use 4G and, if that's not available, drop back to 3G (while available) or 2G.

@hrym I hope your right although I got this today but I guess they want me to get a new phone..
I don't want to leave it last minute by waiting to see what happens.

Ignore it. I get them too. You've got 4G calling set up and your phone will still work on 2G anyway. Yes, they are trying to get you to upgrade. Frankly, making VoIP universal would be a better use of the time.

@hrym @ah thanks, so my phone will fluctuate between 2g & 4g by what i'm using at that time yeh? Which one of the settings out of the 3 in the previous image is 2g? Should it set it at that or keep on 4g preferred?
Thanks
