I recently bought a Vodafone contract. I've just gone into my bill and noticed that it's £78. This is my first payment however when I bought the contract the monthly charge was suppose to be £38. I noticed that I had been charged for something called MPS line rental. I was wondering what this is and why I've been charged for this as this has just doubled my payment was not expecting the bill to be this high! Will I be charged for this every month or is it just a one time thing? As I am not willing to fork out £78 every month as that is beyond ridiculous. I was also not made aware of this MPS line rental charge why was this? And why is it so high? My bill is double the price of what I expected it to be! I'm so unhappy with Vodafone and completely regret coming back to this company! What a scam

It's pro rata charges, just for the first month, your following months bill will be for the agreed amount.
I notice you have also asked this question on the thread below.

Your first bill will be between your Monthly Tariff and less than double that amount.
So if you are saying that it is £78, then either you have some other Extra Charge, like Handset Charge, delivery etc.
Or you have a discount, which is applied from the next Billing Cycle.
If it is neither of this, then if you can post a copy of your billl hiding all personal details, then I or someone can confirm how the charge is made up.

Hi ,
The same has happened to me!
its wrong what Vodafone are doing , I have been with Vodafone for a long time and up until now I was very happy with the service. I always got a good deal with upgrades and after sales service.
Apparently this is explained in the terms and conditions ( that goes on and on ).
i have spoken to customer service today after putting in a complaint and got a refund !
You need to do the same and let them know how you feel.
I have asked to speak to the managing director of Vodafone and find out whose stupid idea this was!
Its a money making scam to make more money for a company that doesn’t need too.
A company that needs to be customer friendly and at the moment it’s not this one.
