Being ripped off by Vodafone

Katela1
1: Seeker
I ordered my phone and plan via the live chat and was told it would be £31.50/month with three months unlimited data
I have received my bill and it states my plan is FOURTY FIVE POUNDS a month?! AND there are data charges (it's supposedly unlimited...)
I have the chat transcript to prove the originally agreed price plan and data.
I am receiving texts saying my phone will be cut off if o don't pay today but I am not paying more than I agreed to
I will go to trading standards and I would also like to add I am a member of the press and have no qualms about producing a write up in the paper I work for
Please rectify this immediately

@Katela1

If this is a new contract, due to pro ratered billing where you are charged part of a month, plus one full months line rental in advance, your first bill will always be more than expected.  Your bill will give you the extra days, you will probably see something like incl proratered and the dates.

If you have been given a line rental discount, you will always see the tariff at the full rate before the discount.   Discounts are given as a credit at the end of the bill and subtracted from the final amount.

You need to get the bill paid on time, Vodafone will place a late payment charge and restrict your services.

If you use Live Chat, they will be able to go through the bill with you and clarify the charges.

Nobody on these boards has any account access so you will need to use 191 or Live Chat to resolve the issue.

It is much better to pay and then ask for a refund than not pay. Vodafone are very quick off the mark to put a default flag on your credit file and even when they are found to have been unjustified they can be very difficult to remove in a short time.

Are you sure that the charge you see is not the new contract for a full month and another pro-rata charge from the time you had the phone to your billing date?

It just says the plan is 45 a month. When I was told 31.50

When you took out the contract were any discounts off the original amount agreed?

If so the account will always show the full price and any discounts are only applied each time a monthly bill is generated.

Hi

Look at the bill and on the pricelan it will have dates to and from, they may be more than a month or have you got a discount further down at all?

Also check your itemisation for data charges as this will not be for data it may be premium texts or subscribtions etc, or if its an upgrade it could be charges prior to this.

Kind regards

To it may concern I was wanting to have unlimited data as I don't have hotspot. I use the Internet when I'm on holiday up in Scotland and now I'm in debt up to £1000 with your company. I've asked many times about it as feel a burdened with Vodafone I cannot afford it. I think it's beyond a joke as I need Internet a lot and what I'm using. Vodafone offered me. But really it's isn't enough absolutely nothing to what I'm using. I'm even thinking leaving Vodafone as I've been offered a better contact with unlimited data, calls and texts cheaper than what I'm paying. Me and my girlfriend been a loyal customer to your company. I'm we are so ashamed to be even call you our provider service. I want it sorted as I will be leaving and so will my misses!!!

Hello @Darren1991

Vodafone do not supply unlimited data contracts.

Please contact our Live Chat through this link to discuss paying this bill.

Hi, Vodafone dont and probably never will provide unlimited data.

If you can't afford it why don't you stop? If you end up not paying you will end up with markers on your credit file and won't be able to get a contract with anyone else.
