HI I'm currently switching from sky broadband, I have recieved my router etc, but been without internet service for over 24 hours, how long does the swith over generally take?
Is it your policy to explain any switch over details? I have recieved nothing to say which date my broadband will become live a little disconcerting since I need a data connection for large spreadsheet for work and cloud, impossible to do on my mobile.
Everything is set up correctly, occasionally I try sky to make sure they havent gone down (which they havent and have been good so far), I hope this was a wise decision on my part.
I feel forced to say, generally finding information on your site is very poor so far.

I would have expected you to recieve a "going live" date from Vodafone.
To give you some context - I'm currently moving from Talk Talk to Vodafone. Both of these company's have contacted me via email/SMS to tell me that my switching date is November 1st.
I won't know when on that day - however as soon as my Talk Talk connection dies, then I'll attach the Vodafone router and wait for it to connect.

Yes, I was expecting something similar. But so far I have recieved nothing. Just a waiting game then. Annoying if it lasts only a couple of days, down right inconvenient if longer.

I am in the same boat as you Soofia, moving from TT to VODA NOV 1st, they say midnight that day, does that mean morning or midnight the second ? lol..
I had it out with TT they tried their best to charge me the early termination fee, then after sorting it out over the phone with them I recieve 2 letters the same day, one ZERO no termination fee then another £90 early termination fee lol. Will have to check my account after the switch.
Been reading these forums and I am a little worried with the switch over, I cant be without interent due to various work commitments, TT would not release my home number but voda have given me another and I have a feeling that may cause problems, probably paranoia...
Anyway... good luck

"when on the day" can be any time unfortunately. When I moved from BT to Talk Talk 10 months ago, BT cut me off at midnight and Talk Talk got me connected at 4:30pm the same day, so over 16hrs wait.
At some point on the 1st an Openreach engineer will move "your cable" from the Talk Talk equipment into the Vodafone equipment.
The Talk Talk connection will drop and then it's time to plug the Vodafone router in - unless TT decide to cut off the service prior to the physical cable move.
Vodafone will quote up until midnight (1st into 2nd) for the line to go live.
I had the same issue with TT. I called them up when the price increase happened and one of their agents offered me teh same deal I was already on £27.70/month) for the next 18 months. I accepted it and then one of their managers took the deal away!
Principle thing now - moving from them.

Hello @Soofla and @ryan_anthony
Do you have any further updates on the status of your Broadband?

My going live date is today. I unplugged my Talk Talk router and plugged in the Vodafone one at 7:45am.
As of yet, my Ubiquity WiFi Access Point has not reported itself as online, so I expect I'm currently waiting for an Openreach engineer to arrive at my exchange.

5:15pm and my Ubiquity unit still isn't reporting as being online. I know, I know - in theory there are still over 6hrs until Midnight, but I'm leaving work in 15 and I really hope I've got some connectivity once I get home!
