Hi, on the Samsung s7 edge,in settings then device maintenance and you press on storage,
if you press on the three dots in the top right hand corner you get a bit of info about your storage like apps and videos.
The one right at the bottom which says cached data of which at the moment mine says 148 mb
Will the device maintenance take care of it?
or are we to clear it every so often?
My thinking it is for cookies or something
Or I can guaranteed if I clear it without asking some one it will probably hold all my important sign in data.
As you have probably guessed I haven't a clue🤔
Could some one enlighten me please.
I have done a couple of wipe partition cache but to be honest all I know about that is that it is good for getting rid of residue files after an update.
Quite confusing when you don't know the answer🤕
Solved! Go to best answer.

Yes thanks for that I have used that way in the past
But there is another one through device maintenance and the three dots.
This one is at the bottom of a list I have hopefully attached a screen shot at the bottom and just checking from yesterday it has jumped up quite a bit.
Thanks again I always learn something new from your links it's like going down a rabbit hole✌🇬🇧

Yes it's the same thing just a global way of clearing the cache instead of clearing for individual apps.
I took note of the amount of data before clearing a couple of them individually
And went back in and it had gone down so it must just be a way of wiping them all instead of individually.
I think i will still use the way your link mentioned
Because I will end up clearing things that don't need clearing.
It is good for a fresh start but not so good for an individual app.I'm still having issues with Samsung pass.so hopefully this will help.
