It's a difficult one for sure.
As you are not the account holder you are not in contract with Vodafone and if you stopped paying, any default or responsibility towards the contract and payments, would be with the account holder. Even though you are not in contact with the account holder, if you have any contact information, you could get in touch to let them know the situation.
Until the account is cancelled by the account holder, the contract will continue running on a month to month basis. If you wanted a PAC code to take your number to an alternative network, this has to be requested by the account holder.
If the contract was in your name, the general advise would be to make sure the account is closed down correctly and you have received the final and last bill.
There is further information for you below, you could always send the account holder the links (if possible)
