Hi guys, i recently rooted my Vodafone 785 and had to update my system software. I then unrooted my phone and said that the phone detected root upgrade and the update failed. Does anyone know what to do?

Hi @AmarAbbas
We're limited to the amount of support we'll be able to provide, because rooting the phone does void the warranty.
Which software version are you trying to update to, and how are you doing this (for example on the phone or via PC)?
Thanks,
Amanda

The phone software update was 240HEG1 and I was trying to do it from my phone. I don't know how to do it from a PC.

Hi @AmarAbbas
Do you have cables to connect the phone to a laptop/PC? If so, please try this and see if you can update.
However, due to the phone being previously rooted, we can't guarantee this will work.
Thanks,
Jamian

So do I just plug my phone into the laptop and try the update again?

Hi @AmarAbbas
That's correct. If the desktop software manages to find your phone when it's mounted, you'll be asked if you'd like to update.
Thanks,
Ben

Cool thanks, I'll give it a go and let you know what happens. Another thing, what about update from SD card. Can I do anything with that??

Hi @AmarAbbas
Thanks, please let us know if this is successful. It’s unlikely you’ll be able to update from the SD card though.
Thanks,
Jamian
