Charged for a Cancelled account

Cancelled my Contract on 3rd August 2015, and i'm still being billed every month. I cancelled my Direct Debit to stop any monies being deducted from my account.

I ring up every month and wait in the queue, to be told the same lie that the mistake has been corrected. Then the following month the bill increases, its now affecting my credit rating.

The mobile phone was returned within the 14 day cool off period, by recorded mail, with a confirmation emailng saying it had been received.

I have been with EE now for 10 months using the same number i transferred from Vodafone.

How do you get the clowns on the phone line, to sort this mess out

Getting close to a year since I cancelled, at the time everything was paid and i was allowed to leave as they couldn't fix the fault with the service.

I thought it had all been completed successfully until approx 3 months went by with no bills.

 i deleted the direct debit information for vodafone from my Bank.

Then i started getting charged for monthly insurance on the phone, after complaining and asking what was happening. i was told it was a computer error, the insurance had been cancelled, but the super computer still wanted the money.

The money for credited back to my account and the balance was zero.

Its only in the last 4 months i'm getting billed about £25 a month for a phone contract.

Hi Semiskinned

I completely understand your anger and frustration at this problem.

The best way forward is to follow the advice already suggested on this thread and speak directly to the Credit File Team by calling customer services. Their team will be able to fully access the account and look into this in further detail.

Hello,

Vodafone has done the same to me. Except, what they did was to charge me twice  my normal bill on the month than I usually paid on the month that I cancelled. They then stopped charging me for two months after my phone number was ported to another carrier, and then they mysteriously started charging me again, but a different t amount 3 months later, every month for 8 months until I noticed Vodafone charges on my account which should not exist since I have NO service of any kind from Vodafone. This is beyond negligence. This is active theft and abuse of private information (my bank account number). This seems to be a common theme with this company. It may be in their policy to automatically overcharge their precious customers. Legal authorities should look into this.

I am trying to have this fixed but they are asking for invoices, of which I have none, because I no longer have an account with them, yet money still flows out of my account and into theirs for some reason... which I have actively blocked for the last two months through the bank. But Vodafone still needs to return the money they stole from my account.

@Aleeseyon

I would speak to your Bank about the option to invoke the Direct Debit Guarantee which is in place for the Banks to return any wrongly taken funds.
