Forums are by nature often used to vent frustrations and discuss problems etc and sometimes we forget to post our positive experiences as well.
Two weeks ago last Friday I upgraded my contract and ordered a 128GB S6 Edge in Black.
I was told the handset was on back order and that i'd have to wait 1-2 weeks for delivery.
I contacted Vodafone a few times during this period for an update to be told 'still out of stock' and 'we don't know when they will arrive'.
I remained patient becuase i knew from the outset that i might have to wait two weeks.
So the two week period came and the Vodafone website was still showing a 1-2 weeks back order on the 128GBin black so time to call Vodafone again and express my concerns at 1, Not having received the handset and 2, My concern that it was still showing as on back order.
I decided to speak to the retentions team by selecting the phone option 'considering leaving us'.
I was connected to an extremely helpfull retentions advisor who checked the stock situation and confirmed my suspicions that the 128GB Edge was indeed still out of stock.
What came next was a bit of a surprise....
I was asked if I specifically needed a 128GB handset because Vodafone currently have stock of the 64GB Edge in Platinum Gold.
I was also advised that a deal could be done over and above the deal offered on the 128GB Edge.
I was then offered a deal that I simply couldn't resist saving me around £20 per month on what I would have been paying for the 128GB (which was already a tad cheaper than my previous contract) and some additional add ons.
I was also told the handset could be with me on Monday 11th May.
I decided to accept the deal as the saving is more important than the extra storage on the handset and the order was placed after cancelling my previous order for the 128GB
I receieved all the promised texts about the new order including a DPD tracking number and my phone is currently sitting at my local depot ready for delivery tomorrow.
I would have liked black, but I can live with the gold. I would have liked 128GB but didn't need it. The monthly saving is far more important.
So, as the title says, credit where credits due Vodafone, it seems you have come up trumps and looked after one long term customer.
And my advice to anyone who's upgrading to this handset and still waiting, maybe speak to the retentions team yourselves and see if they can help you out in any way.

@MacMan14 Thanks for letting us know.
it confirms what I said - that the majority of transactions happen as they're meant to happen.
I hope you enjoy the phone - there is an excellent Android community here if you need any assistance.
