Customer service/Cancellation

18 months ago, I left a rival phone company, after 5 years with them to join Vodafone.

I have called the vodafone team on two separate occasions this week, and not once did either of the operators enquire as to why I would like to cancle my contract or leave Vodafone.

That annoyed me as the only reason I intended to cancle was another phone operator was providing the N97 mini in white at a slightly better rate (still through Vodafone).

I want to stay with vodafone, the signal and userbility of the service is near short of fantastic.

The customer service however has left me wanting to stay even less.

Im not sure what I want to do.

Hi J4EY,

Sorry to hear that you are wishing to leave Vodafone. :(

I can 100% guarantee that we don’t want you to leave us and I can only apologise that you feel undervalued.

What I am going to do is send you an email to your registered eForum address, all you need to do is reply to the email and one of our great eForum team will contact you and see what we can do for you in regards to the N97 mini.

I look forward to receiving your response :D

People complain when they are asked why the want to leave and say they just want to be able to leave in peace.

Now they complain because nobody asked why they wanted to leave. No Win!

A good company should always try to ascertain what causes customers to leave and if there is anything that could prevent this. It may be that there is no feasible action but it may be that a gap in service or supply is apparent that can be addressed.

The customer always has the right to rebuff any polite request for such information.

Basically if you don't ask the company may lose business and profitability and ultimately this would negligent in respect to their shareholders. This ought to bother the company loads!
