Deregistering my Sure Signal

I have recently closed my vodaphone account. Of course I should have deregistered my Sure Signal before the account was closed. I have tried to get help through the online chat but this was actually worse than useless. I was given a number to call and it was the wrong number. I then found the correct number and did get through to vodaphone but they asked for my mobile number which I keyed in but of course they no longer recognise my number so I can't make contact that way either. I see that some people on here have been successful with deregistering through this forum so here I am. Could someone from Vodaphone please help me?

The Sure Signal is an expensive item and I want to get it deregistered so that I can sell it on. I have very mixed feelings about Sure Signal anyway. Its basically paying twice for the one service ie to get a stable signal from vodaphone.

Hi @robstef

Use the Landline Tel :03333040191

When using the Vodafone Landline number key in your Vodafone mobile number after prompted OR if issues exist where the IVR System will not recognise the mobile number then you can opt to ignore the initial prompts to type in the mobile number, and then on approx the 4th request it should then change to ask to input 1 for Payg or 2 for Contract Customers.

You'll then be able to ask Customer Service to De Register the SS.

Thankyou. I will give this a shot.

@robstef Was the advice given by @BandOfBrothers able to help resolve this for you?

Hi Colleen, please see my reply to Band of Brothers above. it didn't quite work out as suggested but after trying the online chat again I seem to have got a result. i certainly hope so as on the strength of that I sold the Sure Signal this afternoon! Cheers.

@robstef Thanks for letting us know. :smileyhappy:

Well here I am again. I sold the sure signal on ebay having been told by a vodaphone agent that my Sure Signal had been deregistered. Now the buyer informs me it has NOT been deregistered. On the face of it it looks like I have been lied to. This is the third time I have tried to get vodaphone to derigester my Sure Signal. Why are they making it so difficult? Is this my punishment for moving to another provider? I have a copy of the transcript where the agent clearly tells me it is deregistered. When I find a way of putting it on here I will do so. In the meantime can anyone please tell me just what I have to do to get this sorted. Thank,

Robert

Take this away from live chat and ring Vodafones Landline number.

Ignore the prompts to key in a mobile number and on the 4th prompt it'll change to say key in 1 for Payg or 2 for Contract Customers.

Thanks. I have tried this and cannot get through the maze of menu options without at some point having to input my mobile number which of course vodaphone does not now recognise.
