Hi!
I attempted to join Vodafone through Carphone Warehouse earlier today, but I was informed that I failed a credit check. I really don't know why this would be the case. My Experia rating is good, and I've had finance/credit no problem in the past.
I spoke to Vodafone but they wouldn't disclose why I failed the test. It's very bizzare, and I don't think there's a valid reason to reject me.
Is there any further steps I can take? I'm devestated I cannot get this new phone on the deal I wanted.

Hi,
This has been raised before.
First thing to do is check your credit file to see if a credit check is actually showing. Http://www.experian.co.uk offer a service.
If it does then leave at least 90 days before you apply again to let your credit score recover.
If no check is showing and your score is good then perhaps try directly with Vodafone.
To note having a good good score and clean file does not guarantee acceptance.
Things like applying for things too close together or the credit file is too clean. I.e. Not enough things applied fir like credit cards or overdrafts can go against an application.
