Flashing second light on VSS1

I'm just trying to start using a VSS v1 after a long time.

It was re-activated yesterday, but I still just see a flashing @ light.

I have followed the troubleshooting steps.  One thing that concerned me was the traceroute, which seems to not be making it to the destination:

traceroute to 212.183.133.177 (212.183.133.177), 64 hops max, 52 byte packets

Hi misterhoughton,

Your tracetroute is making it to it's destination, but taking an awful long time to get there. The problems seem to start at step 4 with poor latency and gets progressively worse.

The destination address of 85.205.0.93 is the Vodafone server, but the traceroute can't get any further due to it being a very secure connection.

Could you please do another traceroute just to make sure.

We would hope to see times of less than 200ms for each step, but, as you can see step 9 for example, is 1044.351ms which is far too slow for the Sure Signal to operate.

Regards.

Mike.

Apologies - I didn't realise my phone was downloading an update.  Must have killed my broadband.

Here is what I get this evening:

traceroute to 212.183.133.177 (212.183.133.177), 64 hops max, 52 byte packets

 1  bthomehub (192.168.1.254)  118.111 ms  7.562 ms  8.581 ms

 4  31.55.187.188 (31.55.187.188)  29.590 ms  31.049 ms  54.207 ms

 5  195.99.127.182 (195.99.127.182)  31.056 ms

    195.99.127.188 (195.99.127.188)  32.635 ms

    195.99.127.170 (195.99.127.170)  34.244 ms

 6  195.99.127.10 (195.99.127.10)  30.822 ms  35.228 ms  34.751 ms

 7  195.99.127.3 (195.99.127.3)  30.336 ms  34.602 ms  30.814 ms

 8  85.205.0.86 (85.205.0.86)  52.520 ms  61.069 ms  56.264 ms

Still just a flashing second light - first one is solid.

@misterhoughton

Thanks for providing your traceroute information.

Please provide the following information so we can check this:

Your speed test results from here.

Your ping test results from here.

Your external IP address from here.

Please try connecting your Sure Signal in another location, such as a friend or family member's house. You’ll need to leave it connected for at least 24 hours.

We'll then be able to determine if the problems are specific to your location and router or with the Sure Signal itself.

It's also worth trying another Ethernet cable so we can rule out the connection as the problem.

Am I able to post my IP to you directly rather than publishing?

My other details are:

Ping 32ms
D/L 2.65 MBps
U/L 0.38 MBps

Many thanks.
