Hi Guys
I will be getting an upgrade Galaxy Note 3 tomorrow.
So I want to copy items from the phone Galaxy S3 to my SD external card.
Firstly, I have a terminology issue (I am on Android 4.3)
I have opened the My Files folder and the menu options are Device Storage and SD memory card.
Am I right in assuming that the Device Storage is the mobiles internal storage and SD Memory Card is the MicroSD card I have put into the phone i.e. external storage.
The reason I ask, is that all video's I look at, have diffent terminology.
Secondly, I want to copy anthing that is useful from the internal storage to my external card.
Can anybody suggest how I transfer photo's, music, contacts and text messages, please
Many thanks

Hi there
You are correct, SD memory card is the SD card that you have inserted into the device.
Your contacts should be backed up to your GMail and should automatically restore to your new handset when you sign into your Google account. Text messages can be backed up using SMSBackup+ and restored to your new device. As for photos and music - it depends on where you stored them in the first place, it is possible that most already are on the SD Card. It may be easier for you to connect the phone to your PC and use it like an external drive and copy and paste your music etc from the phone memory to the SD card.

Thanks everybody.
Kies 3 got me out of a lot of issues. Gmail let me downbadly.
