Galaxy S4 Mini -Removing Texts?

Samdy

How can I remove 'odd' texts from certain individuals on my S4 Mini? I don't want to remove important texts just those no longer required.

Thank you in advance.

Hi @Samdy

A long hard press on the text you want to delete should bring up the delete option and sort this out for you.

AnnS - thanks, done! I didn't need to push hard - I lightly pushed and hey presto! Great Forum.

To remove individual texts and not the whole text conversation.

Open messages app.

touch the message.

Up in top Rh corner hit More.

Hit Delete.

Empty boxes should appear next to each message.

Touch on the individual message box and it'll turn to red with a ✔️and hit delete in the top Rh corner.

Hi Lee,

This one didn't work for me - are there different versions of the S4 Mini as I didn't get the 'more' option at all?

Anyway thanks for getting back.

The option I've presented is if a person does not want to delete the whole text conversation but instead individual texts within the text conversation.

My Samsung has Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 on it.

Lee,

I can see what you are saying, but the method described by AnnS did exactly what you are saying - I deleted 'odd' texts within a conversion ok. So far deleted a couple of dozen erroneous texts 'within conversations' and main conversions still intact.

Thanks again.

To recap.

On my Samsung Phond.

Open your 'Messages' App.

Tap on the Text Conversation.

This should then show all the individual texts to a particular contact.

Up in the top Right Hand side of the phones screen should be 'Call' and 'More' options.

Hit 'More'

A pop up window shows options with 'Delete' being at the top.

Hit 'Delete' and little boxes appear next to each individual text in the text conversation.

Touch an empty box and the box turns red with a tick in it.

Then touch 'Delete' in the top Rh corner at the top of the screen.

As long as your attaining what you want to do that's the main point. :Smiling:

That's fine - agreed. I got what I wanted with AnnS reply.

What the confusion between us is when I tap on a message, I get the following screen:

Message Options:

Delete

Copy Text

Forward

Lock

Copy to SIM

View Message Details

I simply didn't get Call or More - which makes me feel we are using different versions of the S4 Mini - also I don't think I am using Marshmallow 6.0.1. My phone is bog-standard 2013 issue. Nothing added or changed since new. Not a techie - as long as it works, and does and a lovely phone.

Interesting chat though - thanks.
