Global Data Travel - out of bundle usage fees

I have been a subscriber to the Global Data Travel product on a dongle for about four years (I am well out of contract) and recently found myself in Germany about to exceed my 200Mb of bundled international usage. I looked on the web and couldn't find how much this would cost me so called customer services.

I got two answers:

1. It switches to the standard rate for international data of £9.99 for 50Mb of usage. Interesting I replied - so why am I being charged £95+Vat per months when I could subcribe to the Vodafone Premium for 5Gb of UK usage and then pay £9.99 for my 200Mb of roamed traffic and save £45 per month. To which I got the reply - oh you are on the small business product (am I?) so:

2. Out of bundle international usage will cost you £4.25 per MB plus VAT. (i.e. c. £200 inc VAT for 50Mb). Oh - in that case it is definately worth me switching as set out above. To which the reply was that they couldn't do that and I would need to go to a Vodafone shop.

Just got back with no answer apart from 'that doesn't sound right' - you are better off with the Global Data Traveller but we think you are at the price in point (1)'

This was the second of my two tariff questions (see iPhone forum) that went unanswered. Again, as with the iPhone international tariff questions, I was sent to this forum

Any definitive guidance?

That's a really good question, Unfortunatly im not 100% sure of the correct answer so am seeking clarification right now. I've sent an email to a colleague who will know the answer. As soon as I have her response. I will come back and post here.

Hi Guys,

My apologies for the delay, it took longer than expected to get a definitive answer.

NPSG my colleague has emailed me back stating:

"Currently on a 200MB monthly bundle for Mobile Broadband there is no overage charged for usage over the 200MB. If the customer was not on the 200MB bundle they would be paying £25.50/50Mb in rest of world and £8.50/50Mb in Europe per day. Therefore it depends how long the customer roams each week and each month."
