Feeling a bit cheesed off as just received my monthly bill only to see that ive been charged an extra £33 for data usage.
Its showing that the extra data was used on a day when i know for sure i was at home 90% of the day and so using home wifi.
How can I find out exactly what time etc this data was supposidly used, if i can find out at all?
I have a data warning set on my phone and was told that I would have received a txt message telling me im very near my limit etc, no text received.
They could of charged me an extra £330 pounds and I dont seem to have any way of checking if the bill is correct.
Ive never gone over my limit in the last 18months and im sure I havent done now, but they are telling me I have?
Is there anyway I can check this data that they have said I have used?
And why Vodaphone dont have a contact email in this day and age i dont know!!

Vodafone systems can only show how much data has been used but not on what.
A phones inbuilt data monitor can help to highlight what apps etc has used the data.
To be 100% sure a phone does not self switch from wifi to mobile data I'd suggest to turn off Mobile Data in the phones settings.

Hi @sausagesx3
Unfortunately, the online account only lets us customers know the date and the amount of data used.
My first thought is your WiFi dropped and the mobile data was still turned on and the phone defaulted to mobile data. There is also a chance there was an application running in the background consuming a large quantity of data. If you look at your data settings, you should be able to see the applications using your allowance.
Having mentioned that, Vodafone should have sent a text warning text to your phone when you were close to the limit.
If you agreed the contract on or after 5th May 2016, there is also the data cap which you could have activated. There is further information on the cap below.
For further information on when the data was used, this is going to need account access by using live chat enabling you to download a transcript of the chat for your records, or by calling Customer Services.

I haven't gone over, but I have connected to a streaming service first thing in the morning without checking that wifi had woken up first. The result has been several mb of data used because the phone made a mobile connection. Fortunately it hasn't taken me over, but it's a lesson I really must learn.
I find third party data management apps easier to use than the inbuilt one, so check usage more often. My preference is My Data Manager, which has several alarms as well. It's also worth noting that, if you have a recent contract, you can stop mobile data when you reach your limit - there's a tick-box in the My Vodafone app.
