H T C One wont switch on

After charging overnight, my phone will not switch on unless its connected to either a laptop via USB or  to a charger.

Does my phone need to be repaired or is there another fix ?

Hi there and welcome to the eForum

It sounds like there could be an issue with the battery itself and will probably need to be sent in for a repair. You can drop it off at a Vodafone store or arrange a postal repair.  More details on the Vodafone repair service here.
