@Caliban wrote:Who are we supposed to believe has the right information?
Given that it is an official Vodafone statement on an official Vodafone website and it's a story that has been repeated in several magazines and tech websites as they've been told the same thing by the network, who do you believe?
As to why they have taken this bizarre decision? We'll never know because they'll never tell us.

@jeffkin Until after 6 May 2016 I will not believe anyone. When I had a chat with the sales team and after they have confirmed THEY WERE AWAITING STOCK OF HTC 10 I have asked how come there is a post on this forum that seems to be the official VF stance and I was told situation could have changed since.
This article is 4 days old
and reads:
"A spokesperson for Vodafone said: “We are constantly reviewing our device portfolio but there are no current plans to range the HTC 10.”
and later on
"Industry sources told Mobile News that conversations are still ongoing, but it is a major blow to the manufacturer"
Unless thay have a deal, the official stance would be what their spokesperson confirmed, don't you think? Or is it me just being overly positive...

I fear you are being overly positive as the statement from Carly was made 15 hours ago and deliberately holds no ambiguity as to a potential change of policy in the future.
They may change their mind, and I hope they do, but I cannot see that happening right now.

Which is a fair point Jeff, my gut tells me the HTC 10 is not coming to Vodafone, but the fact that some Vodafone employee's are off message on that is just plain rubbish. The fact that when you call them on it they just shrug and repeat their position isnt really instilling confidence either.
Buying the handset SIM free and getting a SIM only contract with Vodafone was my most likely option...yet this kind of incompetence makes you wonder if its not better to go elsewhere and avoid these shenanigans the next time I want to change/upgrade my contract (and I've been with Vodafone for approaching 15 years!).
Its this kind of customer care farce that really narks customers. When I signed up to my last contract, it took THREE months for Vodafone to get my tariff and bill right despite repeated calls and conversations. Perhaps this is a symptom of a much bigger problem that Vodafone have, and one that was highlighted by the recent Which? survey.
The actual nuts and bolts service (network coverage etc) that Vodafone provide is great...the customer care and interaction bit...not so much.

@Caliban all you get here is the standard answer about "No plans to stock HTC 10". They say the same over and over again... if it's correct and VF will not stock HTC 10 ever, they should at least have some decency and should apologise for the mess their colleagues are causing by telling us (and perhaps others) lies.
As you say, if we wait for too long we'll miss out on the good deals. I was considering the CW contract with a £50 cashback with a VF plan but if not for anything else than this mess I will not be getting any new contracts with VF in the future.

@zorica I think you should take it down a notch

Be still Zorica - I've decided there are some here who are able to indulge in an adult conversation.
Let me make something clear. The reason I and other like me come to this forum on a regular basis, and give up our own free time to do so, is to help our fellow customers navigate the minefield that the Vodafone network can be. We do so by telling people how this network thinks, acts and what they say.
By repeating the message we do not endorse it but simply state it as a matter of fact. The fact that this message doesn't accord with some people's pre-conceived view of the world cannot be helped.
Personally, I've owned a lot of HTC products going back into history and have always enjoyed them and found to be of excellent quality. But the same was true of Blackberry, Palm, Compaq and DEC to name a few.

Zorica, please wind your neck in. Lets not let this discussion degenerate into something you would expect to find on an Xbox forum.
Thanks

There's another point I'd like to make. Ranging decision in national suppliers like Vodafone and O2 are not made on a whim or overnight. Some decisions can be taken for granted. Of course all networks will supply the next iPhone and Samsung Galaxy and these are planned years in advance. The Galaxy S8 will already be well advanced as will the iPhone 7 and 7S/8.
Thus this decision will not have been taken last week or even last month - probably taken months ago. It can't be changed on a whim either. HTC, like all manufacturers, has to juggle global logistics and get to the phone in stock to networks all over the world.
Even if VF listened to all of you and changed their policy today, they probably wouldn't be able to get their hands on stock for several weeks.
