HTC One M8 No 4G

I have a unlocked HTC one M8 that I am using on my new (just under a week) monthly Vodefone contact. It never connects to 4G apart from when I have been in a Vodafone Shop. I have 4G coverage according to the map and customer services representatives.

I have contacted customer services 4 times and they it should work. The customer service in the shop couldn't help they said it could be the phone.

I used to get 4G coverage on Three network, what should I try next?

Hi

I assume you do not get 4G coverage anywhere (apart from the time in the shop) ?

Process of elimination: Can you try you're Sim card in another phone to rule out either the Sim or Account or Phone which may be at fault. And try another persons sim card in your phone to see if 4G appears.

Not to annoy you by asking but I assume 4G is still turned on in the phones settings.

The coverage checker is to give an indication only.

Vodafone have provided a specific Self Help Thread that holds Initial Checks and a Template that asks certain questions that will Help the Tech Team to ascertain what's possibly going wrong in your area. Please would you re post the template with your answers for this team to help you.

Also a sim swap which any Vodafone store can process may help.

I have tried the SIM in another phone at it receives a 4G signal. So I presume that the phone is either faulty or not compatible with the frequency for 4G that is used on the network and that the shop uses another 4G frequency that is compatible.

Hi

Vodafone uses Band 20 for 4G

800 MHz LTE 4G
2600 MHz LTE Advanced 4G

Your m8 accepts

LTE band 3(1800), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800)

LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 7(2600), 8(900), 28(700)

So 4G should work.
