Help Please.. More Than One Laptop?

Both myself and my partner have our own laptops with mobile broadband (not built in), mine with Vodafone and his with 3.. who he has had nothing but problems with.

We are buying a house together and wondered whether you can have two dongles on the one contract?

I pay £15 a month and don't go anywhere near the usage limit, so could we purchase another dongle on the same contract and then he will lapse his contract with 3 (due to expire around house purchase time)

I am aware that other providers do the unit where the dongle sits and then multiple laptops can use the same connection.

Thanks in advance

The caller number comes out of the SIM card, and each SIM will have a different number. Unless Vodafone can provide you with two SIMs on the one contract, I don't think its possible.

Hi Jadebrown,

You could add another line to your contract so that you each have a SIM and allowance to use, that'd be £15 per month each with 3Gb of usage each.

As Hockeyshooter rightly says, we don't provide mutil SIM options for broadband at the moment so you couldn't both share the same allowance of data I'm afraid :(

Have you thought about Top up and Go broadband access for one of you? £15 per Gb you use, with the added advantage of no contract period ;)

While one of the laptops is connected, if you set up your networking (wired or wifi) right the other laptop should be able to share it's internet connection. Google internet connection sharing for more.

Admittedly not very helpful if one of you is out of the house with the mobile dongle though.
