Home broadband replacement?

I'm told Vodafone is the ideal company to use to get unlimited mobile broadband.

I work from home and also do a fair amount of online gaming/Netflix/large data downloads for work, so none of the current mobile broadband options I can find seem to be relevant. Landline broadband isn't an option for me shortly, so I need to find some solution (or admit that the UK isn't up to it and give up some of my hobbies).

I'm told you offer an unlimited tariff, cost isn't really a major option, but everything I can find seems to have a cap on usage.

As far as I know there are no unlimited mobile broadband options on VF, although if you hit your cap, you get charged for another GB so you can keep using it... 2GB is quite a lot for general gaming and unless the files for work are 100MB+ a time, that should be ok.

It would be the netflix streaming that would soon eat your allowance.

However, I wouldn't want to use mobile broadband as my primary connection, wireless to a fixed line is bad enough, and can see there being a lot of ways it could drop or delay the connection to make time-sensitive things fall over.

Unfortunately work wise I do work in e-media and the role involves a lot of RDP and large databases (some I can bypass with server to server data transfer but not always).

Any idea what the charge is per GB so I could get a rough idea of the general cost per month?

I'd rather not get tied in to a lengthy contract as hopefully within 6 months I'll be able to get back on a landline, but within a week or so I'm going to need some solution or to start camping out at free wifi spots during work hours which is far from ideal

I may avoid netflix and gaming, but trying to make sure I cover my bases as much as possible. Thanks for the help.

On a 30 day rolling plan it is £15 for 2GB, then £15 for each additional GB after that.

You also get 1GB of BT OpenZone useage if you are in an area that has a hotspot, which could be useful.
