How do I receive an unlock code

I have filled out a network unlock code request and have received an email back saying that I must contact the respective customer service team so they can sort me out with an unlock code. I am uncertain of where I can contact the customer service and also what the reason they cannot send me an unlock code from the details that I have filled out in the form.

To note the iPhone does not unlock via a code that needs to be keyed into the phone. 

Vodafone request the unlock to Apple after receiving the filled out unlocking form from the account holder. 

Vodafone then email the account holder to advise they've requested the unlock.

Apple then take the request onboard and can take approximately 20-30 days to complete the unlock. 

A person inserts an active non Vodafone U.K. SIM card and hooks up to iTunes periodically within that time frame. 

Once successful a pop up shows in iTunes confirming the unlock.
