Huawei E 220 - Yahoo email problems?

OK I am working in Las Palmas, Gran canaria.

I use a vodafone Huawei mod E 220 and pay monthly. I just got an SMS saying that 3G (HSDPA) has just been activated.
Unfortunately, either that, or some wierd coincidence, has stopped me sending any emails through my yahoo adress.
Gmail & Lycos work fine, but yahoo keeps telling me that:

"The page has been reset by the server, message not sent".

Then some sort of captcha box appears, and when I fill it in, i get the reply that I have tried to send too many emails at once, despite only trying to send one.

My Spanish isn't good enough to be able to explain this, to a local Vodafone rep.

Anyone had a similar problem ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as yahoo is my main e adress . ( inbox works fine, just cannot "Send")

Hi modem-22

Welcome to the eForum :D it is always good to see new faces on here.

With the mobile broadband that you are using, is it a UK version where you are using this for "roaming" or is it a Spanish version?

I can't see a link between this not working for you since the text was sent, but if it is a UK version that you have we can check to make sure everything is set up ok on your account.

Hi Martin, I bought the modem in Spain, it has worked flawlessly for a couple of years, since i got the SMS that they had changed to 3G,on the 24th October, I have not been able to send any emails through my Yahoo address.

The INBOX works fine, it is only when I try to reply, or compose a new mail, and press "SEND".
First I get the message that
"This page was reset by your server, message not sent."

Then it jumps to a yahoo captcha box, so I put in the two words. Once you hit enter, the message comes up that ;
You are trying to send to too many people ( Despite only sending to one person)
Then the screen freezes.

I went to a local internet cafe, as a fault finding test, and my yahoo email worked fine from there.
So it something between yahoo email and the new 3G lines. ( At least as far as my modem is concerned )

Anything other than sending Yahoo emails, works as usual, Lycos. Gmail. Independent forums, like this one etc.

Hope this helps. Thanks in advance.

Well, I do not know what happened there, I wrote a reply, then realized I had missed a word, so went into "EDIT", put the missing word in, then pressed "SAVE"
And everything went crazy.

I am not messing with it again, in case it gets worse.
Martin, can you get rid of the wierd stuff ? or does it explain anything to you ?

Thanks in advance
Jan

Hi Modem I've edited what I can, not sure what happened there either, I sometimes get this when editing certain forums with Google Chrome, strange.

I'm not sure what 3G changes would have taken place, you mentioned your modem was purchased in Spain, meaning this is a Spanish modem, with a Spanish number.

Since your other emails are working (Gmail etc) the issue may not be with 3G or network connectivity, it could be the Yahoo SMTP servers. My advice for the time being is to setup your Yahoo email account (on the phone) from scratch.

Hi Again.
well I finally found a Vodafone rep here, who knew about the problem.
Apparently the HUAWEI E 220 is not compatible with the new 3G band, so I got a discount on a new modem, HSUPA K 3765-Z
It seems a bit slower than the old system, but it works!

Hope this may help someone.
Thanks for the responses.
