Hey, I've had real trouble with my phone today!! Incoming calls are not coming through and going straight to voicemail and had no record of missed calls, despite having full signal etc. I asked colleagues at work to call me which all came through fine, but they were sat right next to me.. I have not got call forwarding on or anything and texts and iMessages are working fine. Please give me some advice!!

Thanks
Katherine

I only noticed problems after ios7 update, no network issues in my area & I did absolutely every check possible a customer inc complete reset - but one confusion, is after got new nano sim & all working fine apart from odd problem, was checking time stamp, it hadn't updated for few days & I still got my calls. Yet old sim... If I didn't force network refresh, the calls stopped & no alerts given for missed call.. I wonder as someone else has commented, if it's entirely due to readying for 4G & causing issues?

Hi minibelle,

If the SIM doesn't update on the network, the system can think that the number is unreachable. When that happens, calls will automatically go to voicemail.

Now that you have a SIM which is refreshing properly, your calls will get through normally.

Hope I'm not missing something - but this seems like the definitive answer. I think you're saying that some sims are causing poor time updating, which is causing the problem.
So a new sim (if it's an OK one) solves the problem?
Cannot Vodafone test sims before selling them to us?
Suddenly it sounds like a known problem with a known solution!
Regards

Seems a pretty reasonable explanation APW doesn't it!!

I have 2 months left of my contract and I am definitely going to look around. I only came back to Vodafone as a friend referrred me and told me that they ahd been having no issues, unlike EE.

Hi guys

apwseaside - This is most common when you're using an older SIM which needs replacing. Like most electrical components, their performance can deteriorate over time.

Whether it's a new one which has slipped through or an older one, you can pop into any Vodafone store to get a replacement for free.

MotoGT - When you checked the troubleshooter, did you follow step 7 and post the template?

Everything you've described - multiple phones, multiple SIMs, calls going straight to voicemail - suggests signal issues. That template lets us look more closely at the local sites for you.

Dave

No I didn't Dave as I have an appointment with a Tech in store tonight and to be honest I am at the point where I kind of can't be bothered to put more effort in until I have spoken to this chap.

If you change your mind please post step 7 from the guide so that we can take a closer look.

Thanks,

The issues above are exactly the same as I had, so should already be investigated. Time stamp on 2G signal not updating unless forced via settings, network, change network & back to Vodafone then voila, calls can be recieved. It still happens to my phone now although not as often since swapped sim.
