As iMessages are sent from iPhone to iPhone over a data connection their is no charge.
....apart from any charges incurred by hookingup to Vodafone data network if you don't have a data allowance in your tariff or you've exhausted your data allowance.

You're welcome.
The only time a person person could be charged for a text is in the following situation where the text converts to a mms text which isn't part of a tariffs text allowance.
Why-have-I-been-charged-for-a-text-message.
You'll know now if sending by iMessage has failed as the bbubble will turn from blue to green.
If you check in your iPhones settings you can turn sending as mms to off.

Hi @Daren_28
The information @BandOfBrothers has provided is great.
Just to clarify, if sent over iMessage, this is data usage, meaning if you have data allowance theres no charge
However, if this isn't iMessage (green instead of blue bubbles) then this will be an MMS charge which you will see as an extra charge on your bill.
I hope this helps and you're enjoying the new update!
