I recently updated software on Ipad. How do I configure it for Internet etc?

You should get the settings on inputting the Vodafone SIM card if it's a cellular and wifi model

Assuming it assuming it has cellular capabilities, insert the sim and connect to iTunes, this will download the latest carrier setting for you.

If it is wifi only what problem are you encountering when you connect to wi-if?

Thanks for your help. I got a message that said I would get what looked like the usual configuration message from Vodafone. I didn't know how to deal with it as I didn't know how to access such a message. It seems to have done what it needed to be done though cos I now have full access. Thanks to everyone.

With configuration messages you rarely have to do anything other  than to let it do its own thing.
