I have recently changed from iphone 5 to 6 and can confirm that this problem exists on both phones so not sim card or hardware related.
Both phones work fine but when I go to areas with no signal (there are a few in hampshire where I live) neither phone would/will reconnect to the network at all. Sometimes switching to airplane mode and back will help but mostly I need to turn phone off and on again to get signal back at all. I only notice this problem when I spend some time in an area with no signal it seems.

@DaveCD
Can you please tell me which of the routes I should take through the Live Help tool? I can't see a "give me a new SIM" option!
Thank you.

New sim for iphone 6 activated at 8.30am. phone was fine until about 1pm when in center of Southampton I lost signal. Left it for an hour and then had to power off/on to return to full signal.

Hello,
I have the exact same issue. I have an iPhone 6. I have 4G without any problem at home. In the last few days what happen is that if I take the tube, then I have no connection unless I reset the phone.
This is something that happen recently, I had the phone for a month without issues.

Hi peppemon,
Is this at more than one tube station or any specific ones?
Is it just data that's affected when you're above ground again?
Finally are you accessing the Wi-Fi via the My Vodafone app or signing in on the web browser?
Thanks,
Ben

Dave,
I find it hard to believe that I have 2 duff Iphones. I have recently spoken to at least 4 friends who suffer the same problem with iphones (various models) and what is more not all of them use Vodafone. I can only conclude this to be an Apple software glitch and as such I don't hold out a lot of hope in getting it fixed any time soon!
