Iphone 6 Contract Query

I have a query about the Iphone 6 contract pricing, I have always understood a increased upfront cost when increasing the handset storage on iphones, or and increase in monthly amount to cover the handset cost difference. But either I am reading it wrong but this time the increase is doubled. Example: Apple Prices: Iphone 6 16gb £539, Iphone 6 64gb £619 - £80 difference Vodafone Contracts: Iphone 6 16gb - Handset Free - Monthly £53.50 - Unlim Calls, Unlim Text, 10gb Data - Total 24months = £1284 Iphone 6 64gb - Handset £79 - Monthly £53.50 - Unlim Calls, Unlim Text, 7gb Data - Total 24months = £1363 £79 difference but less data!? - The £79 upfront clearly is the 'Apple' Handset difference, so seems penalised tariff for more storage? OR Iphone 6 16gb - Handset £49 - Monthly £48.50 - Unlim Calls, Unlim Text, 7gb Data - Total 24months = £1213 Iphone 6 64gb - Handset £79 - Monthly £53.50 - Unlim Calls, Unlim Text, 7gb Data - Total 24months = £1363 This is exactly the same contract yet it seems Vodafone charge £150 extra for the 64gb handset when Apple are only charging £80? Can anyone explain this, this seems to be penalising anyone with large storage? I have no problem paying the £79 or £80 difference in handset price, but why are we not getting the same Tariff deal? Hi there

I guess the only way to sum it is that is the way it is.  The reason I say this is that I can't imagine that you are going to get an official statement from Vodafone on their pricing policies.

PWIAC

Thats the response I got from the store, they just said that the pricing is what you see!

Hi again, just wondered if any of the vodafone admin guys can find out about this pricing??

Hi magiklegz,

The pricing is set as you see online.

Due to the nature of this, it's not something we can comment on.

Thanks,

Ian

Vodafone are after all a business and must add margins which they may choose to apply on what they see as the highest volume model.
