Hi,

By now, I have realised that this problem is pretty common and there are many discussion threads for it. Well, I am having the same problem and have tried out the following so far -

- Upgrade to the latest 10.3 version

- Uninstall and reinstall

- Check the Device Manager for any Driver related problem (Everything's fine)

- Restart

Basic information -

- My PC - HP 430 Notebook PC / Windows 7 Professional

- Have tried it on another PC and it works fine (Using the same to post this message)

- There is no Error Code

Please help.

Saurabh

Strange!

When I, just for a chance, tried to connect from the Desktop tray at the bottom right corner of my PC, it connected and is now working fine!

However, I still cannot connect using the "Connect" button of VMB Software. It displays the same error.

What could be the reason? Asking just for my academic interest.

Thanks!

Hi saurabhvikhe

Can you try our Mobile Broadband troubleshooting steps here and let us know if you still need assistance?

Thanks

Sukhi

Hi Sukhi,

I tried all the 4 options. No success. Is there something else I can do?

Saurabh

PS: As posted earlier, my VMB works well in other PC. Also, Data Card of other service provider is working well in my PC. Only the VMB and my PC seem to be incompatible.

What is the exact error message you get?

"Mobile connection not possible. Ensure that no other applications are using your selected device, and try again in a short while."

Hi saurabhvikhe,

Could you confirm that you've updated you K4505 firmware to 11.870 please?  Anything less that this and it could cause connectivity issues with the network.

Could you try and put the SIM card into a phone to see if it connects to the internet so we can exclude the network from being the cause of the issue pelase?

Many thanks,

Phil

Hi saurabkvikhe,

It's a strange one. Given the message you're getting and the fact it works on your other PC, I'd suspect that something on this one is mis-identifying the dongle as a mass storage device and making a connection. Whilst VMB is seeing this and stopping immediately, going via the sandbox is seizing control instead.

It might be worth checking the icons there by right-clicking when you first plug in to see if anything claims it is connected to mass storage. If so, disable the connection there and see if that frees the dongle up for you.

You could try the following to fix it... (I'm still on 10.2 so hope the menu choices are the same)

In Advanced mode, hit the Priorities tab

Select and expand the mobile entity, and Vodafone UK should be the selected setting.

Press Add Settings (at the top) -> Mobile Connection

Change the settings name to something else, and press OK.

The new name should be visible as a selection in the Mobile list, select that, and try to connect.
