So I called Vodafone yesterday to get my PAC code, as I’d seen a Virgin Mobile SIM only deal of 8GB a month for £12, which beats my 4GB for £18 that I have with Voda. The woman, Kathryn, asked if I could get a cheaper/same deal on Voda, would I stay? So I say yes I would, and she asks what company I work for; I tell her, and she says it’s on the list of discount partners meaning I could get a deal that’s usually £17.00 for 8GB now reduced to £11.90, so she asked if I’d stay for that.. I said yes, happily.
She said I’d need to pop into a store with proof I worked where I said I did, which I duly did the same day, and the guy in there took my work email address and said it was all fine, I would get a confirmation mail and it would take a couple of days for the discount to be applied.
So, I come to work this morning, to find a mail saying the discount can’t be applied as the tariff is not valid.
Hmm, not great, so I called customer services again to be told that the £17 is already discounted so the 30% extra can’t be applied. So I asked why didn’t the lady I originally spoke to check this, and I was told there’s no record of her saying anything about the additional discount!
Now this other person is trying to see if they can “give me my PAC code without a termination fee”… I am not paying a termination fee because I was lied to in order to stay with Vodafone! Are calls not recorded? If so the evidence would be right there!
Also do I not get some cooling off period if signing up to a new contract over the phone?

You will have to call 191 and ask for Returns.
They will revert your contract back to what it was.
Once that is done, you need to speak to the Upgrade and Disconnection for PAC.

As you were looking to switch networks via a Pac code I assume your at the end of contract term and not at any early upgrade date.
People make mistakes but it's ultimately then how that's put right.
If this was me I'd ring 191 and choose thinking of leaving which should get you through to the Retention Department where you can explain the chain of events and current situation.
Hopefully they'll be able to apply a discount to retain you if vea isn't available.
Joining another network can bring it's own fresh set of issues as not all networks offer the same signal and data speeds everywhere. You could end up with a better deal but diminished user experience !
If you do move then try a payg sim card out first where you live and work and commute to properly test the network.
Leave any direct debit open until you receive the final bill in 2-4 weeks and have received a £0 bill and sorry your Leaving letter.
Hopefully Vodafone can offer an amicable resolution.
