Mobile Broadband - How long are the contracts?

Hello,

I'm writing this because I'm considering to buy an Apple Mac from 'PC World' with a vodafone mobile broadband. The thing is that I need to travel from the UK to Germany very often and I would need internet there as well. So my questions are;

1- What's the contracts duration/period when I buy a Mac and get the vodafone's broadband via PC World
2- Will I still be able to use the Mobile broadband in Germany (If staying temporarily)?
3- If I cancel the Contract because I'll have to stay in Germany for a longer period of time.
3i- How much would the cancellation fee be.
3ii- Would I have to return the laptop?


This is the laptop I was thinking about with £40p/m vodafone broadband ( unless you can suggest something else? )

Hi Sean,

The Contract periods for Mobile Broadband are typically 24 months, although you would need to check this with PC World as they do not specify on their website.

If staying in Germany temporarily, you will still be able to use your Mobile Broadband connection, however the usage will not come out of your 5GB allowance, and will instead be charged at our "Roaming" rates, detailed here. To summarise, you can expect to pay £9.99 for every 50MB used within a 24 hour period.

If you need to cancel, then your termination fee is worked out as follows:

The monthly cost of your price plan (in this case, £40) - minus VAT - multiplied by the number of months left on your contract - minus a 25% discount.

For example, if on a £40 a month, 24 month contract, you decide to cancel during the 20th month:

£40 - 17.5% = £33 x 4 months = £132 - 25% = £99 Termination Fee.

The laptop is yours to keep from the first day onwards, even if you request early termination.
